About Us

Pioneer Camp, Botanic Gardens & Science Museum in Redding

Inspire creative learning and cultural understanding at this expansive nature complex on the banks of the Sacramento River. Discover California's unique pioneer history at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, an old logging camp, and visit a traditional Native American bark house. Have fun with hands-on science exhibits and meet rescued animals at the museum. See parakeets, butterflies, and fish. Wander across the Sundial Bridge, the largest working sundial in the world. Stroll among native trees, plants, and flowers at McConnell Arboretum & Gardens, which includes a children's garden and medicinal garden. Relax by the gurgling water features or grab a snack at the Museum Store and Coffee Bar. Relish lovely views of the river and spark your imagination at this entertaining, family-friendly attraction.

Prices - $16 adults, $12 seniors 65+/children ages 4-15, free for children age 3 and under
Hours - Museum is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Gardens are open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. or dusk.
