With 36 miles of shoreline, it's easy to find the perfect place to relax at this serene mountain lake. Start at the marina at Oak Bottom or Brandy Creek to rent boats and sports equipment, including kayaks, paddle boards, and tubes. Embrace the tremendous natural beauty of this National Recreation Area.

  • Where are the best places to swim in Whiskeytown Lake?
    Find cool, clear waters and soft sand at Oak Bottom Beach, Brandy Creek Beach, and East Beach. Lifeguards are present during the summertime at the small lagoon at Brandy Creek.

  • Where can you fish on Whiskeytown Lake?
    You can fish from a boat in the lake, from the shore, or from fishing piers at Oak Bottom (across from the marina) and at the Whiskey Creek launch ramp. You can also fish in the streams and creeks that feed the lake, but only from the last Saturday in April through November 15.
