Join Us for Consolidated Plan Focus Groups Make your voice heard and share your knowledge on housing and community development needs and challenges in your community! Join the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) in guided conversations where we'll hear from you on the most important housing, homelessness, and public service needs in your community. These conversations will help us understand the priority challenges facing your organizations and the communities you serve. Your knowledge and experience will shape how we plan to use our funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in our five-year Consolidated Plan. Who should attend:Anyone is welcome to attend, but HCD is specifically looking for input from participants from non-entitlement or rural communities. We are especially looking for those who work in housing and community development and subject matter experts in the following areas:• Affordable housing, homeless, and community development advocates and organizers• Affordable housing investors, developers, and finance professionals• Nonprofit, charity, or faith-based service providers• Legal services providers Format: There will be two focus groups at each event: The morning group will focus on housing needs and the afternoon group on homeless and public service needs. HCD group facilitators will guide the conversation with specific questions on your community's challenges, successes, and lessons learned. We will provide a summary of the group's feedback in our Consolidated Plan scheduled to release in 2020.
