News from Jeanean and David Gendron - August 25, 2019Just a note to share some goings on in our lives. We have opened an Art Gallery & Studio in Historic Cottonwood, California. When we first married, (30 years ago) we shared a dream to come together as community and share all things Art. This is the dream coming true. Our first show will be in October this Fall. We are doing something different for this initial show. It is designed to be a progressive and immersive experience with the Artist(s).Our Heart Intention is for the gallery to be a community resource bringing art back into everyday life for the children and families of our community. It will extend to an international venue given the support needed and all good things coming together. We will be offering a virtual experience (post exhibition) for each show as we move to support artists everywhere. We have a broad stroke with intentions to include Art in all media, photography (digital & film), and the performing arts. The group dynamics of conversation and collaboration will be explored....our software development experience has come into play to help us share the power of collaboration.....a means for rapid improvement that applies to groups in play and work. On the funny side.....Jeanean thought we should locate in Redding but David was adamant about it being Cottonwood. A fairly large site opened up and we moved quickly. Thinking back....we have to say.....What were we thinking? Big Smile. It is a 132 year old building without a foundation. It is rustic. The flooring is, we believe gorgeous but not level at any concept of the word 'level'. We are delighted. It has been an adventure and while we never intended to make it into something it was not....we feel we made the perfect choice. We are glad we chose Cottonwood....allowing us to spending more time at the Gallery. We truly enjoy and love the Cottonwood Community. Rustic Elegance is a fun concept to our endeavors.Send us some good and sweet tho
