The Redding's trail system includes 80 miles of natural and paved surface, including walking loops within parks and challenging dirt trails for equestrians and mountain bikers. The crown jewel of this system, the Sacramento River Trail stretches along the banks of the beautiful Sacramento River, providing stunning views of the mountains and the river itself. Popular for jogging, walking, bicycling and roller blading, this trail features restrooms and drinking fountains along the way. It's also easy to access from the Sundial Bridge, Caldwell Park and Hilltop Drive.

  • What are my parking options there?

    There is a parking lot on Middle Creek Road just to the left of Court Street. You can also find parking near Mount Shasta Mall at Dana and Hilltop or near Keswick Dam, at Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
  • What is Turtle Bay Exploration Park?

    Situated at the gateway to the Sacramento River Trails, Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a 300-acre gathering place, featuring botanical gardens, an arboretum, a forestry & wildlife center, a museum and the beautiful Sundial Bridge. Entry fees are $16 per adult and $12 for children under 15.
